Submission Guidelines for Writers and Photographers
As Global Writes grows as a forum for the talents of the writers and photographers who are members of
IFWTWA, we welcome submissions of articles, photographs and tourism information. Non-members are welcome to submit materials if their IFWTWA membership application is being processed, however members do receive priority on space availability. Whether you re a member or non-member, though, know that at this time we are a non-paying market. However, we will run with your work a brief bio, photo and a link to your own website if you have one.
We seek short pieces of 175 to 300 words, as well as longer pieces of 900-1200 words (and these word counts are flexible), on hotels and resorts, restaurant or lodging reviews, regional food, wine and other beverages such as beer and spirits, and all manner of other travel-related topics. We also accept freestanding photographs with captions and we love to have images to accompany your stories, if you have them.
We also accept short news items and press releases for all sections of the magazine, which include travel (On the Move), food (Edible Planet), wine and spirits (Spirited Journeys), lodging, hotels and resorts (Rest Your Traveling Feet) and tips and resources for writers (Pen to Paper).
Editorial Deadlines:
Volume 4 / Issue 1 -- February 7, 2008 submission deadline for March 1, 2008 publication, Focus: Luxury vs. Budget
Volume 3 / Issue 1, December 1, 2006: North America, Published
Volume 2 / Issue 4, September 1, 2006: Europe, Published
Future issues will focus on Africa, South America and more.
